Second Editing Session

Today we had our second editing session. In this session my group and I were mostly trying to sort out all the small edits that didn't work so well and also tried to fix the shots that weren't quite right. Another key thing Matt spoke to us about was sound.

For our product to work we need the sound to be perfect in order for our product to be perceived correctly (the most important being the 'American theme'. We made a list and discussed exactly what sounds/noises we would need to get.

Here is the list we came up with:
  • Bathroom sounds - taps turning on, heavy breathing, toilet flushing, water splashing, door opening and closing, light turning on.

  • Neighbour sounds - e.g. shouting, talking, bathroom sounds.

  • Outside noises - police sounds, helicopter sounds, policemen shouting.

  • Inside noises - TV sounds (e.g. the news), reloading of a gun.

We also need to remember that as our thriller opening develops the outside/neighbour sounds will change as they adapt to what is happening to our main character. E.g. We will hear the neighbours sounding shocked and worried when they start to hear the police sounds.
